Coming out of homelessness is very difficult.
The journey is often made worse by substance abuse, untreated mental illness, and unemployment. United Military Care is excited to announce our new program addition to Battle Buddy where we collect and assemble cleaning baskets and new home goods for Veterans who are ready to get into their own housing.
The Veterans have done a lot of work to maintain sober living, follow medical treatment plans and find jobs that will sustain them.
However, they often enter a new apartment with no furniture, food staples, or cleaning supplies. Their money is tied up in making deposits so other purchases must wait.
