American Flag Etiquette

Writer: United Military CareUnited Military Care

The American Flag is an important part of our Nation and should be treated with respect at all times. Most Americans know the Flag is not to fly in inclement weather or at night without a light shining on it, but did you know there is a certain way to present the flag on a pole off of your porch? As we approach Flag Day and Week, take the time to learn about Old Glory and remember the lives who died protecting the principals of her.

National Flag Day occurs every year during the week of June 14th, the date the United States Flag was created. The week of June 14 is designated as “National Flag Week” which will be June 11–17, 2023.
