3rd Annual Give Thanks Recap

The pandemic couldn't keep us down! What a wonderful day to celebrate and give thanks to the men and women who so bravely served America. Due to the pandemic we couldn't enjoy the normal "picnic" like festivities with live music, so we had a drive thru at an adjacent property.

Volunteers from several groups decorated signs, held flags, and waved to our Veterans as they drove through to pick up their free bbq lunch provided by members of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club of Marietta.

Special shout out to Big Apple for the delicious barbeque chicken and pulled pork after a night filling East Cobb with mouth watering smoke and smells from his industrial smoker.

One of the highlights of the day was a special visit from WWII Veteran, Merchant Marine, Ira Giles and his daughter, and 100 year old Marine, Harry Kone. All of our Veterans are precious, however, our WWII Veterans are passing on at a fast rate - this was truly a remarkable opportunity to thank, and love on a part of American History. We love you and thank you for all you have done for America.

189 BBQ meals were given out and delivered to home bound Veterans on Saturday, November 7th, more importantly, Veterans of all ages drove away knowing United Military Care and their Partners in Patriotism will do whatever it takes to remind them they are loved and not forgotten.

We could not do this alone, many thanks and socially distanced hugs to the folks who made it happen.
